Leaky Roof

We woke up this morning to the sound of dripping. Being a Sunday morning, it was one of those things that you sort of incorporate into your slumber. We were too busy enjoying the time change and sleeping in to really mind. Then it got louder. Gertie shuffled, Bear stretched and then it all came together: our apartment was leaking. Well, not our apartment so much, but someone else's apartment was leaking. Our apartment was just collecting water. Within in minutes, it turned into a veritable geyser. The weird part is that it was coming in through the walls. We formed a bucket brigade, we called maintenance, but before long, it formed a large blob:

Luckily we caught most of the water, I'm just glad we were in town when this happened as I'm assuming it could have been a lot worse. Turns out, it was caused by an overflowing tub above us from someone who was away for the weekend so they weren't there to notice. It's nothing a little fresh paint and a carpet cleaner can't solve, but what a way to start the morning.

Halloween

Halloween certainly came and went this year. I know, the Extravaganza was pathetic this year. What started with a bang quickly died with a whimper, to wax poetical. My computer got hit with some sort of spyware that has taken me some time to get under control and Bear and I got the chance to go to Hawaii, so our minds weren't all that focused on the holiday season. And with the current price of oil, who can even afford to blog anymore?

But we did still manage to squeeze in some last minute Halloween cheer. I got to carve my pumpkin and Bear roasted the seeds for me. We even watched a bit of the Ghost Hunters Halloween special from Waverly and dutifully tuned in to Ghost to Ghost AM. It's always good to get some Art Bell in on Halloween. But don't despair, we'll be here to rock the f*ck out of Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
